This set is a relatively early title by Bowen, a well-known and popular maritime author, who published titles such as Ships for All, and as editor of Merchant Ships of the World.

The Sea its History & Romance is in good shape for its age with no rips or tears. The previous owner's bookplate is on the inside cover of all four volumes.
