These Kathy Kale McCoy Brown Drip bowls are a matched set of two small pottery bowls with deep brown interiors and creamy drip glaze around the rims.

I like the way the glaze changes from bowl to bowl. The brown is rich and glossy, while the cream glaze runs down into darker bands around the sides.

They match, but the natural glaze movement keeps them from looking factory identical.

Condition

The rims feel smooth, with no visible chips or cracks. The glossy interiors remain attractive. The photos show light age related surface wear, small glaze variations, and wear around the unglazed foot rings. That base wear is normal for older tableware and does not take away much from the display side of the bowls.

4 Collector's Notes

  1. The Kathy Kale USA marks are visible on both bowls. They help identify the pair rather than leaving the maker uncertain.
  2. The brown and cream drip glaze gives each bowl slightly different movement. That variation is part of the fired finish.
  3. The 5 1/4 inch size works well as a cereal, dessert, fruit, or small serving bowl.
  4. As a matched pair, these are useful for someone adding to an existing Kathy Kale Brown Drip tableware set.
