Hand Painted Porcelain Moon Flask Bottle with Birds, Red Trim and Cork Stopper

This is a small hand painted porcelain moon flask bottle with birds, about 3.5 inches tall, with red trim and a cork stopper.

The glaze is bright white with no chips or cracks found, while the cork is dried and cracked and the unglazed foot has a yellowish stain at one corner, all shown in the photos.

Each side of the round, flat body carries its own painted panel of two birds in purple, blue, and orange on leafy green branches, framed by molded ribbed sides traced in red. It sits well on a vanity, a curio shelf, or alongside a collection of small decorative bottles.

Positives

  • Graded Very Good: This bottle shows light use, every flaw is named here, and none of them get in the way of display.
  • No chips or cracks found on the body, neck, or rim. No flea bites on the rim or edges.
  • The base edges are smooth to the touch.
  • The painted birds and leaves on both panels are crisp, with full color and no paint loss seen in the photos.
  • The white glaze is glossy and even across the round body and neck.
  • The red trim lines on the rim, neck, ribbed sides, and pedestal are complete. They are hand painted, so line widths vary a little from spot to spot.

Issues / Wear

  • The cork stopper is dried out, with cracks and dark spots across the top.
  • The unglazed foot has a yellowish round stain or residue at one corner. It looks like an old sticker or adhesive mark.
  • The unglazed foot also shows light grime and scattered small dark specks.
  • One side view shows a small matte, rough looking spot at the lower edge of the base, where the glaze looks thin or skipped.
  • Two tiny dark specks sit in the glaze on top of the rim, near the cork.

Questions buyers ask

Every listing spells it out and shows it in photos. Chips, hairlines, crazing, worn plating, old repairs. If I did not mention it, it is not there.

Yes. Every photo is the actual piece, taken by me. When it sells, it is gone.

I note maker, mark, era, and measurements when I can confirm them, and say so plainly when I cannot. Unmarked pieces get dated by what the piece itself shows.

I process order within 2 business days, wrapped and boxed so it arrives the way it left here. Don't forget, free shipping on orders $35 and up.
