Children's cookbook bundle

I paired Fun to Cook Book with Buddy's No-Cook Cookbook  for you because both were made to put young cooks in charge of simple kitchen projects.

Fun to Cook Book was published by Carnation Company in 1955. Mary Blake and Margie Blake are credited with the book, which teaches basic cooking, kitchen safety, cleanup, and simple recipes through bright mid-century illustrations. Recipes shown include fudge sauce, sandwiches, scrambled eggs, birthday cake, orange pie, and other beginner dishes.

This copy has hard pictorial covers and a white plastic comb binding. The illustrated contents remain colorful and easy to read. A previous owner wrote the name "Sue." in pencil inside the front cover. The covers and edges show handling and age wear, but the pages photographed are clean without food spatters.

Buddy's No-Cook Cookbook by Pauline C. Peck was published by Weekly Reader Books in 1980 and has pictures by Jim Robison. It contains 32 pages of easy snacks that children can prepare with limited adult help. Recipes include Fresh Fruit on a Stick, Saucy Spicy Apple Sauce, Bubbly Fruity Tooty, Peanut Banana Shake, Sailboat Sandwiches, and Buddy's Best Milkshake.

The Buddy book has a softcover binding and warm yellow-toned pages. That color is consistent throughout the photographed pages and appears to be part of the paper or printing rather than isolated staining. The pages shown are clean, readable, and free of visible food spatters.

Condition:

Both books are used and show age and handling. Fun to Cook Book has cover and edge wear plus the penciled name inside the front cover. Buddy's No-Cook Cookbook shows cover wear and overall yellow-toned pages. The photographed interiors remain clean and readable.

Measurements:
Fun to Cook Book: approximately 8 x 6 inches.
Buddy's No-Cook Cookbook: approximately 9 1/2 x 7 inches.

Page count:
Fun to Cook Book: not numbered in this copy.
Buddy's No-Cook Cookbook: 32 pages.

This pair works well for someone who likes vintage children's cookbooks, mid-century food illustrations, or old-fashioned recipes written specifically for young cooks.
