This vintage milk glass jar was originally made for James Keiller & Son Ltd. Dundee Marmalade and features the distinctive "N" inside a square maker's mark used by the Obear-Nester Glass Company.
These opaque white glass jars replaced earlier stoneware marmalade crocks during the early-to-mid 20th century and remain popular with collectors and farmhouse decorators alike.
Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks were found during inspection. The glass retains a nice glossy finish with light age-related wear, including a few faint scuffs consistent with normal use. The replacement lid fits well but is not original to the jar. The interior is clean and ready for display or storage.
James Keiller Dundee Marmalade jars are collected both for their advertising history and for their simple milk glass design. Examples with factory marks like this are often repurposed today as kitchen storage jars, bathroom organizers, or displayed alongside vintage pantryware.
