The 54th Air Service Group 1943-1945: An Historical Compilation is John P. Bondurant's history of his World War II unit, which served in the China, Burma, India theater. In the 1976 foreword he explains that he was the Group Historical Officer, that the records did not reach him from India until after the war, and that he finally put the history together for the nation's Bicentennial.
The book is typewritten in style and built from his personal wartime diary, unit histories, orders, and letters. It follows the group from the long train ride across India to Calcutta and its base at Tezgaon, with frank details of daily life, local food, and the cities the men passed through, along with records of supply and repair work for the units that flew the Hump into China.
After 529 pages of history, a separate section on the 54th Air Service Group holds black and white photographs and information about the men and the local people they worked alongside. For a veteran's family, a WWII researcher, or a CBI collector, it is a rare first-hand record.
Positives: Graded Good. The pages are clean and easy to read, the binding is solid, and the gilt title is still clear.
Issues / Wear: There is slight staining and wear overall. The front cover has some wear, and the back cover has more scratches. The inside back cover and the blank pages there are stained, and the page edges have some staining. A few gilt letters on the cover and spine are worn away.

Every listing spells it out and shows it in photos. Chips, hairlines, crazing, worn plating, old repairs. If I did not mention it, it is not there.
Yes. Every photo is the actual piece, taken by me. When it sells, it is gone.
I note maker, mark, era, and measurements when I can confirm them, and say so plainly when I cannot. Unmarked pieces get dated by what the piece itself shows.
I process order within 2 business days, wrapped and boxed so it arrives the way it left here. Don't forget, free shipping on orders $35 and up.
