This bundle includes two Thornton W. Burgess Bedtime Story-Books, The Adventures of Johnny Chuck and The Adventures of Reddy Fox, both illustrated by Harrison Cady and published by Grosset & Dunlap, by arrangement with Little, Brown & Company, copyright 1913 and 1941, and both books shown are included in the sale.
Both books have their dust jackets, with chipping at the edges and cover wear, and there is a brown stain on a pictorial endpaper and a jacket flap, as the photos show.
Johnny Chuck is a curious young woodchuck who explores the peaceful countryside and learns lessons along the way. Reddy Fox is the clever fox of the Green Forest, and his story begins with Granny Fox Gives Reddy a Scare.

These two 1941 Grosset & Dunlap Bedtime Story-Books still have their pictorial jackets and Harrison Cady's drawings, and they suit a Thornton W. Burgess shelf. If it's the right copy for you, it's ready to come home.
Every item is honestly described and carefully packed. These are vintage pieces, so light age-related wear comes with them. I show and describe what I see so you know what to expect.

Every listing spells it out and shows it in photos. Chips, hairlines, crazing, worn plating, old repairs. If I did not mention it, it is not there.
Yes. Every photo is the actual piece, taken by me. When it sells, it is gone.
I note maker, mark, era, and measurements when I can confirm them, and say so plainly when I cannot. Unmarked pieces get dated by what the piece itself shows.
I process order within 2 business days, wrapped and boxed so it arrives the way it left here. Don't forget, free shipping on orders $35 and up.
