The American Woman's Cook Book is the Culinary Arts Institute edition edited by Ruth Berolzheimer, with a copyright page running 1938 through 1941 and earlier Butterick copyrights beneath it.

The green cloth boards are embossed with a leaf pattern and carry red and black titling, and the fore edge is cut with a thumb index so the book falls open at cakes, meats, or salads without a bookmark.

Inside are full page color plates of a braided loaf, a garnished fish platter, a roasted turkey, and a tiered dessert tray, set among chapters on yeast breads, meat, poultry and game, canning and preserving, and cooking for two.
