This vintage green metal recipe box comes packed full of one family cook's handwritten recipe cards, Detroit newspaper clippings, and pamphlets gathered over many years.
The box is full and the lid hinges and closes, with scratches, scuffs, and a paint loss spot on the front, and toning, stains, and tears on many cards and clippings, all shown in the photos.
The recipes are written in many different hands: Strawberry Shortcake, Cheesecake, a glazed Ham, Banana Cake, and Broccoli Puff on Buick notepaper. Clippings include a Yuletide cookie column from the Detroit paper's Office of Prudence Penny, Home Economics Expert, with Filled Christmas Cookies, plus Cran-Raspberry Butter Bars, a Seven Layer recipe, a CowBelles beef recipe notice, old grocery coupons, and a Roasting Instructions and Recipes booklet tucked inside the lid.

Every listing spells it out and shows it in photos. Chips, hairlines, crazing, worn plating, old repairs. If I did not mention it, it is not there.
Yes. Every photo is the actual piece, taken by me. When it sells, it is gone.
I note maker, mark, era, and measurements when I can confirm them, and say so plainly when I cannot. Unmarked pieces get dated by what the piece itself shows.
I process order within 2 business days, wrapped and boxed so it arrives the way it left here. Don't forget, free shipping on orders $35 and up.
