Ceramic Rooster Coin Bank, Brown and Green Drip Glaze with Red Comb, Majolica Style

This is a ceramic rooster coin bank, 6 inches tall and about 5 inches long, in a high gloss brown, black, green, and yellow glaze with a red comb and pink wattles.

The beak tips and the coin slot edges show worn spots where white clay shows through, and there is a small chip at the pointed corner of the molded base, while the comb, wing tips, and tail are whole, all shown in the photos.

The rooster stands crowing on a molded rock base, with the coin slot in his back between the wings. The glossy drip glaze and bright comb suit a farmhouse kitchen shelf or a rooster collection.

  • The comb, wing tips, and tail are whole, with no broken pieces.
  • The worn beak tips feel smooth, not sharp.
  • The glaze on the body, wings, and tail is still high gloss, with deep brown and green color.

Issues / Wear

  • Both beak tips have small worn spots where white clay shows through. They feel smooth.
  • Small white flecks of glaze loss sit where the comb meets the head, and a few at the comb points.
  • The white glaze on the face has light crazing.
  • The coin slot edges are rough, with flaking glaze and exposed clay along one side.
  • A small chip of glaze loss with exposed white clay sits at the pointed corner of the molded base, with more edge wear along that same rim. Other spots around the footrim also show worn glaze and exposed clay.
  • The unglazed underside has light staining and grime, with a few small colored specks.

Questions buyers ask

Every listing spells it out and shows it in photos. Chips, hairlines, crazing, worn plating, old repairs. If I did not mention it, it is not there.

Yes. Every photo is the actual piece, taken by me. When it sells, it is gone.

I note maker, mark, era, and measurements when I can confirm them, and say so plainly when I cannot. Unmarked pieces get dated by what the piece itself shows.

I process order within 2 business days, wrapped and boxed so it arrives the way it left here. Don't forget, free shipping on orders $35 and up.
