This is Would You Like to Have Lived When?, Book One of the My Land and Your Land Conservation Series, a 1953 revised edition paperback from the National Wildlife Federation written for grades 3, 4, and 5.
The pages are clean and bright with small stains on some pages, and there are no rips, tears, or writing inside, as the photos show.
Authors Mary Melrose and Paul E. Kambly follow a boy named David as Grandpa Dave tells how people lived When the Early Settlers Came to America, By Flatboat, and By Covered Wagon, when the land was covered with forests, wildflowers, and wild animals. The book closes with Everyone Can Help, a list of ways children can protect birds, trees, and wildflowers, beside a map of the country.

This 1953 Book One still has its painted pioneer cover and its color nature art, and it suits a shelf of vintage conservation books for children. If it's the right copy for you, it's ready to come home.
Every item is honestly described and carefully packed. These are vintage pieces, so light age-related wear comes with them. I show and describe what I see so you know what to expect.

Every listing spells it out and shows it in photos. Chips, hairlines, crazing, worn plating, old repairs. If I did not mention it, it is not there.
Yes. Every photo is the actual piece, taken by me. When it sells, it is gone.
I note maker, mark, era, and measurements when I can confirm them, and say so plainly when I cannot. Unmarked pieces get dated by what the piece itself shows.
I process order within 2 business days, wrapped and boxed so it arrives the way it left here. Don't forget, free shipping on orders $35 and up.
