About the Author: Frank Barcus

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1895, Frank Barcus grew up surrounded by the Great Lakes, developing a deep love for boating. After moving to Detroit, he spent his youth exploring the Lakes by canoe and later completed over 200 voyages to various Great Lakes ports.

Barcus' extensive experience on the Lakes and his passion for storytelling culminated in Freshwater Fury, a testament to his dedication to preserving the history and human stories of the region.
