DESCRIPTION

This is a single plate from The Edward Marshall Boehm Hummingbird Plate Collection, specifically the Crimson Topaz pattern (male and female shown with Cestrum Parquii flowers).

Eleven inches round, hand-crafted English bone china, hand-painted with the precision and detail Boehm Studios was known for. The border is ornate scrollwork in gold; the center shows two hummingbirds—the male in deep magenta with golden wing details, the female in olive green—hovering over a cluster of small golden flowers and green leaves.

The back is marked with full documentation: the scientific name (Chrysolampis mosquitus), the flora (Cestrum Parquii), the natural location (northern and eastern South America), and the Boehm Studios mark. Edition limit is 15,000.

This is a serious collector plate—the kind people hunt for to complete their Boehm sets.
