This vintage brass push up candlestick has a tall cylindrical stem, round stepped base, and working side slide that raises the candle from inside the holder.

It has a warm aged brass finish with dark patina, surface wear, crackling, and a small dent on the upper rim.

The push-up mechanism still works well, making this a functional piece as well as a decorative one. It is a nice fit for primitive decor, reading-nook styling, historic home displays, or anyone who likes old brass with real character.

Collector’s Notes

Push-up candlesticks were made so a taper candle could be raised as it burned down, using the small side slide or ejector. This practical design appears in antique and vintage brass examples, and collectors often search for working mechanisms, aged patina, and traditional forms.

This one is not polished-perfect, and that is the look: darkened brass, crackled finish, rim dent, and a working slide. It has the kind of useful old-object charm that feels right beside vintage books, on a mantel, or in a cozy reading corner.

A working brass candlestick with honest wear, useful design, and enough old-world character to earn its place on the shelf.
