The book Encounters tells the story of Dorothy Norman who was a rare and overlooked voice from inside the artistic and social revolutions of the twentieth century. Norman was close with a wide swath of mid-century artists and political history-makers, beginning in the late 1920s.

As a social activist, writer, editor, and publisher, she in turn influenced the New York intellectual community. Her personal life path became a deep and persistent spiritual quest, guided intimately by her mentor, the photographer Alfred Stieglitz. This is a fascinating and sensitive memoir.

Encounters A Memoir Dorthy Norman is an excellent addition to your vintage social activist book collection or home library.

Encounters A Memoir Dorthy Norman is in good shape for its age with no rips or tears. Please note the yellowing on the cover, and the previous owner's name written on the inside page.
