About the Author: Howard R. Garis

Howard R. Garis (1873–1962), who was born in Binghamton, New York, created the beloved Uncle Wiggily series and produced daily stories for over 50 years.

Along with his wife Lilian, Garis became one of the most prolific children’s authors of the early 1900s. His gentle tales of woodland friends still speak to readers today, reminding us of simpler times and timeless values.
