The White House Cookbook has many recipes and cooking techniques, menus, care of the sick, and more used in the White House. Includes portraits of many of the first wives. The author  Hugo Ziemann was a steward of the White House.

This historical book has so many "recipes" for homemade cleansers and soaps. As well as how to choose the best cuts of meat, make homemade remedies, etc. This book's value is the glimpse into kitchens and housekeeping of the past.

White House Cookbook is an excellent addition to your vintage historical recipe collection or home library.

The book White House Cookbook is in OK shape for its age. Please note the wear on the cover and binding is very loose. As shown in the photos. All pages are firmly attached.

Please Note: I do not normally offer books in this condition for sale, but the historical values outweigh this. This book is 118 years old. Enjoy!

Please use pictures as a guide. Have any questions or need more photos, ask.

The vintage items I share with you have been previously owned and loved. They may show some wear as is typical for vintage pieces.

Who We Are

When you shop with Reading Vintage, you are saving a book from the landfill.

Our vintage books are authentic, sustainable, and unique.

What is vintage sustainability?

Approximately 640,000 tons of books are deposited in the landfill annually at an average weight of 4 pounds each. This averages out to about 320 million books discarded each year that are not recycled. Wow!

As avid readers become more conscious of the environmental consequence of disposable books, we are looking for a more sustainable way to shop.

Could buying vintage be the answer?

Most readers don't imagine when buying a new book how much paper we are using and what will happen to that paper in a year or two.

All of my vintage books are sourced from personal collections found in estate sales.

I'm passionate about preserving our past and passionate about the power of books to tell stories.

Because my goal at Reading Vintage is to connect readers to books, I hope to save these books from the landfill.

I'm proud to offer these books that are gently used, so you can find the titles you love in a way that's more environmentally friendly.

Happy Reading,

Pam of Reading Vintage
