The Happy Hollisters and the Scarecrow Mystery #14 by Jerry West Illustrations by Helen S. Hamilton-1957

The Happy Hollisters and the Scarecrow Mystery another mystery waiting to be solved. When Mr. Hollister's sport and toy store, The Trading Post, is robbed, his main concern is for his invention, a new type of collapsible canoe. He, therefore, is surprised to discover that a Geiger counter and a couple of pickaxes are the only missing items. After putting the problem of the theft in the hands of the police, the family turns to the matter of testing the canoe. From this point on the strange and unusual events that beset them seem mysteriously connected with the theft at the store and a search for uranium.
