McCall's Step-By-Step Sewing Book is a guide to smart sewing. This soft-covered magazine-like guide has the latest patterns sizing (published in 1967), advertising, and photo sewing with 182 full-color photographs and diagrams to make your dressmaking and tailoring easier and fun.
The McCall Pattern Company was established in 1870 by a Scottish tailor named James McCall. Patterns were unprinted until 1919 when they started printing information directly onto the pattern pieces. In the 1920s, selected patterns had full-color illustrations on their pattern envelopes.
