Herbert Carter was 15yrs old, he lived in a small cottage with his widowed mother, half of the mortgage though was owed to Squire Leech at 750 dollars, the village was called Wrayburn, there was no way to earn any money in the village, but Herbert did deliver a few letters for the Post Office. One of Horatio Alger's better books and a picture of the late 1800s.
