“There is no friend as loyal as a book.” ― Ernest Hemingway

Home for Christmas by Lloyd C. Douglas 1937

A homey tale of 5 adult siblings, dispersed about the country,
getting together at the old homstead on the farm, without any
spouses or children, to re-live the 'good old days' before the
holiday season got too 'you know'. This was written in 1935, so
I found that humorous. No matter when you live, the experience
was always more authentic when you were growing up.

We found 'Home for Christmas' in the depths of the family
Christmas decorations. I didn't recognize the author Lloyd C Douglas,
at first, but from the inside flap it noted he wrote
'Magnificent Obsession', a fairly well known book/movie. There are
about a dozen nice illustrations throughout the short tale, a perfect
read for the season. Review by Carl Theaker for goodreads
