This pair of Pontiac Native America is a great set to display with your collectible Native American books and add charm and history to your library.
These vintage wood bookends are replicas of the Pontiac or Obwaandi'eyaag. known for leading Native Americans in an armed struggle against the British in the Great Lakes region. The wood has a great weathered patina.
The Burwood Products Company, a wall decor and clock manufacturer of Traverse City, Michigan, made small items from Burwood, a composite wood/plastic material that can be injection molded.
Bookends serve a practical purpose - to keep books upright and organized on shelves. However, these vintage bookends are not just functional, they will also add a touch of elegance and history to your home library.
Be aware: books shown in the photo are for display only and not included.
Condition
These Pontiac Burwood Bookends are in good vintage condition for their age with no chips or cracks.
These bookends are an estate find; both have been surfaced cleaned but may need a thorough cleaning.
The vintage items I share with you have been previously owned and loved. They may show some wear as is typical for vintage pieces.
Please use pictures as a guide. Have any questions or need more photos, ask.

Who We AreWhen your shopping for a new novel, most readers don't imagine that you can do it in a eco-friendly way. In every area of your life you can live a sustainable lifestyle even while shopping for new to you vintage books!
Sustainable living is accomplished by making choices that reduce our environmental impact by making fundamental changes to counteract climate change and decrease ecological destruction.
Buying vintage anything is essential because recycling and reusing items means fewer polluting resources are being used to make brand new books, kitchen items, bookends, and more.
Approximately 640,000 tons of books are deposited in the landfill annually at an average weight of 4 pounds each. This averages out to about 320 million books discarded each year that are not recycled. Wow!
As avid readers become more conscious of the environmental consequence of disposable books, we are looking for a more sustainable way to shop.
Our vintage books are authentic, sustainable, and unique. So make a difference - your way.
All of my vintage books are sourced from personal collections found in estate sales.
When you shop with Reading Vintage, you are saving a book from the landfill.
I'm passionate about preserving our past and passionate about the power of books to tell stories.
Because my goal at Reading Vintage is to connect readers to books, I hope to save these books from the landfill.
I'm proud to offer these books that are gently used. For anyone interested in the environment, browse our online shelves so you can find the titles you love in a way that's more environmentally friendly.
